Car Air Cleaners

Using a car air cleaner

Do you know that driving car is the most toxic activity we have to do every day? Putting an air purifier into your car cabin is a smart decision, because the quality of the air we breathe while driving is worse than you can imagine. Dust, exhaustion fumes, pollen, bacteria, gases, cigarette smoke, VOCs etc. Road air contains these pollutants in the amounts that are really dangerous for our health.

It's true that cars have their own filtering system, but, on the one hand, it's not perfect, and can't protect you from all types of pollutions, and, on the other hand, it filters only the air that is entering into the car. Built-in filters don't circulate and clean the air inside the car. And thus, you have to breath with the smog, dust, fumes and bacteria entering your bronchs and lungs and eventually leading to serious problems, including asthmas, respiratory disorders, and allergies.

This is why you should take the quality of the air in your car seriously, and a mere air freshener doesn't do the job. It can only remove the odor, or rather mask it, without fixing other problems.

Technologies of car air purifiers

Car air purifiers work in the same way that most purifiers do. There are several technologies employed in these devices, the most popular being ozone purifiers and air ionizers. The reason is that these two purifying technologies provide great results in limited time, and don't need to be on all the time.

Car ozonators are extremely effective for removing odors, gases, cigarette smoke, exhaustion fumes from the car. Immediately after plugging in the device, you will feel a major difference. Make sure, though, not to overuse ozonators, as large amounts of ozone in the air can cause throat irritation, watery eyes and other problems.

Air ionizers remove the finest airborne particles from the air. They are effective against dust, bacteria, pollen, dander, can also remove smoke and gases. As air rushes over the metal car exterior, negative charges are stripped away from the molecules, thus building up a positive ion environment inside of the car. Positive ions are bad for your health, while negative are good (to get more information on neg ions, go to negative ions section). This is why car air ionizers are becoming more and more popular nowadays – they emit negative ions and retain the ionic balance.

And again, just like with room air purifiers, the best device exploits a combination of various technologies for providing complete protection from all types of airborne pollutants.
