Ionic Air Cleaner
Ionic Air Cleaner
Oreck, Honeywell, Hunter, Kenmore, IQAir, Blueair, Airfree, and Surround Air - ionic air purifiers produced by these companies are certainly the best ones on the market.
How does ionic air cleaner work
Ionic air cleaners, also known as air ionizers, work differently from all other air cleaners. They don’t clean air in a mechanical way, but ionize it by charging the particles in the air with a positive or a negative charge.
After that the charged particles are captured by the collection plates (such machines are called “capture” ionic air purifiers). Another technology is in attracting the particles with the opposite charge to each other, sticking them together, making them heavier and causing them to fall out the air without mechanical capturing. From the viewpoint of effectiveness, the first type of ionic air purifiers is better: the harmful particles and bacteria are not left all over the place on the floor in the room ionized, but collected on a special plate that you will have to clean regularly with a cloth.
Advantages and disadvantages of ionic air cleaners
The advantage of air ionizer technology is their effectiveness against the smallest and the finest particles in the air and quiet operation as compared to other air filters and air purifiers. But, of course, this system is not perfect as well, and it has its own disadvantages, too, including ineffectiveness against odors and chemical pollutions, so if you are looking for a pet air cleaner, or want to get rid of cigarette smoke in your apartment, air ionizer is not the best purchases for you. Besides, one more drawback is their inability to actually kill bacteria, mold spores and viruses: all they do is remove them from the air, very effectively, though.
In a word, ionic air cleaners are very safe and effective devices that will improve your home environment and turn it into a healthy place to live for you and your family members.
